Cabra Design has developed a specific machine for testing the leakage level of alloy wheels with vacuum chamber techonology, called HLTW MACHINE. In particular, this new generation of machine is able to recovery helium without getting down the productivity.

Features

The technology developed by Cabra Engineering includes many important features.

The most important are: wide range of wheels (13" - 24"); wheels random size feeding; automatic calibration to maintain the highest efficiency in the measure process; use of mixture with the highest % helium.

SPECIAL FEATURES

RANDOM FEEDING WHEEL SIZE

  • The machine can work with all the range of the wheels, feeding in a random sequence. To adapt it takes in account:
    • Variable dimensions of the wheels (width & diameter) within beginning manual set-up of the closing force.
    • Residual noise checking due to helium pollution of the vacuum chamber seals.

SELF-GAUGING

  • The Helium spectrometer can self-gauge within a certified leakage (specimen) each “N cycles” (free value of set-up)
  • Automatic prompting (programmable cadence) for the introduction of the "DUMMY WHEEL". It comprises a standard loss sample, in order to check the coefficient "K" value attributed to the loss transduced by the mass spectrometer.

CHECKING MIXTURE % He

  • The machine uses an air mixture with high % of Helium (from 30% to 95%).
  • The helium mixture changes in the time, due to dilution and loosing happening each test-cycle.
  • The machine can check the % of Helium in the mixture each “N cycles” (free value of set-up).
  • The machine can self-modify the algoritm for Helium topping-up.

WHEEL SIZE SELF-ADAPTING

  • Self-recognition of the wheel size during the manipulation.
  • To avoid to damage the wheel, the closing force is calculated taking in account the wheel dimensions and automatically set-up.
  • The closing force value depends on the optimal seals compression.
Dispositivo Sniffer

SNIFFER DEVICE

  • The machine can have a probe SNIFFER connected to the spectrometer for the local searching of Helium.
  • The probe is used to find potential He leakage through the measurement circuit.
  • This function can be used only stopping machine.

MAXIMUM WHEEL SIZE

  • Wheels can be tested up to 24" in diameter and 12" width.
  • The maximum diameter requires a special kit to take account of the high forces associated with this sie of wheel.
